FAQs
Where are you based / do you travel?
I am based out of the Chicagoland area, in Fox River Grove, IL. It takes me a little over an hour to get to the city of Chicago. My favorite (local) weddings to take are in suburbia / farmland all around Chicago and up into Wisconsin!
YES, I love to travel and explore new places! It is one of my favorite things to do. So far in my lifetime, I’ve been to 24 states, St. Thomas USVI, Puerto Rico, and Ecuador. Exploring will always be a part of my life and I feel so lucky I get to travel for my job!
Do you charge travel fees?
If your wedding is within 2 hours of Fox River Grove, IL, I won’t charge any travel fees! This radius extends around 30 min North of Milwaukee, MN, South to Kankakee, IL, East – to the Indiana border, and West – just about to the Iowa border.
If your wedding is between 3 and 8 hours, I will request a hotel accommodation for two nights.
If my drive time will be more than 8 hours, I will most likely fly to your location! At that point, check out my destination packages that include all my travel fees!
What's it like shooting with you?
I have a very down-to-earth, easygoing, cheerful personality! I’m more of an introvert, but I can be extroverted when I need to. I love it when my couples let their personality shine! I’ll offer prompts to help you let loose and get those candid shots. I definitely prefer candid over posed. Ultimately, it’s my goal to make sure you enjoy your wedding and to never get in the way of those little moments that make your day so meaningful!
How do payment schedules work?
I require a $500 non-refundable deposit (and signed contract) to secure your date. Then your final payment will be due one month prior to your wedding!
When will I receive my final film?
Your final film(s) will be delivered digitally within 2-3 months from your wedding. You will have one free round of edits! Some requests include: taking out / replacing certain clips, simple color adjustments, or turning up or down the volume on music or voiceover audio.
After I receive your final approval on your film, I will mail your flash drive to you!
Do you offer raw footage?
Yes! You are more than welcome to add on Raw Footage to your package. Keep in mind that I shoot in sLog-3, which is a very flat profile. Your raw footage will look unsaturated and have a very low contrast. This is, however, the best way to shoot in order to retain as many highlights and shadows as possible. If you ever need additional edits in the future, you can send this raw footage back to me or to another video editor to make you additional films!
Can I pick out the music for my video?
Yes! One thing to keep in mind though, is that I am not able to use any copyrighted music, unless you’d like to pay the artist for their copyright release. To use copyrighted music, it will typically cost $1,000+ per song. To avoid these extra charges, I pay for a royalty free service called Musicbed. Even though they don’t offer many “popular” songs, they still have an amazing selection of songs to choose from. You are more than welcome to visit Musicbed.com and offer suggestions on what song(s) you’d like me to use for your video! If you need a place to start, feel free to check out my favorite Musicbed artists here.
